For money you can have everything it is said. No, that is not true. You can buy food, but not appetite; medicine, but not health; soft beds, but not sleep; knowledge but not intelligence; glitter, but not comfort; fun, but not pleasure; acquaintances, but not friendship; servants, but not faithfulness; grey hair, but not honor; quiet days, but not peace. The shell of all things you can get for money. But not the kernel. That cannot be had for money. -Arne Garborg, writer (1851-1924)

I was in need of some inspiration, so I look to some wise words from Eddie Murphy and Co. Amen I say, Amen!

Pretty G.

its been 5 months and a day since Dad had to take the route home upstairs, I still have a hard time fathoming that all this time has passed and the changes that have happened to all of us that loved him so much. I always thought before that when you lose a loved one as time goes by, everything slowly fades, but for me now, this final wonderful, empowering, loving image of Dad is imprinted upon my mind, the collective acts of his unconditional, unselfish love, the unimaginable bravery he had in the face of death, his smile, the last kiss he gave me while i fed him as we watched football that January 18th. It all swirls together into his legacy, and truly shows me the characteristics and make up of my biggest hero.

Without a doubt he's been looking out for me, first with the roadie tour, now hooking me up with being able to be at Roadtrip full time. No words to put it how it makes me feel to be doing work now that can fulfill those words Dad told me on his bed just a couple days before he had to go, "My dream has always been to inspire, if I can't go on to do that I want you to finish it." nuff said. Miss you Dad, and miss your fighting spirit, but it's been transferred into so many peeps you affected now, and with you guiding me, I'll make sure I take the road less travelled, and use my blessings to give others some hope and liggity love. Me not being the most knowledgeable music head, I get my music and scoops on music from different outlets: peeps.youtube.hypem.listserve pick of the weeks. Recently i've just had one of those streams of great music and artists come through and I'm just in one of those musical buffet moments where I can try a lil somthing here, a lil something from there, and even come back for seconds or thirds from a certain genre or mood. Anyhow, here's a couple, with more to come, enjoy, and shoot me back some picks! Peace.Positivity.Love!

Ghost - makes trip hop/electronic tracks, livin in the UK, by way of my surrogate country New Zealand! Very DJ Shadow, RJD2 esque with sick grooves and real thick and deep moods.

check out his album Freedom of Thought

give It's All Love a listen.

Sia - amazing voice, orginal style, she just wraps around the music and creates something all her own, and has some ingenuitive videos as well!

My pick is Soon We'll be Found, thanks Mariana!
Soon We'll be Found video, dopeness!

I was chillin on Fri. and I was talking with Errol and Kunal and we were talking about our weekend plans, and if we had anything really cool or exciting coming up, and I responded without really thinking, and said, "Well we get to go to work on Monday, and I'm pretty excited about that." Kunal is starting today at Roadtrip, and the rest of the production heads start today too, so i'm looking forward to connecting to folks about Roadtrip, and putting our minds together and contribute more to the cause. It just hit me at that point, that I had reached one of the things in life I hoped never to sway on which was basically doing work that I love, or am without a doubt passionate and driven about, I'm blessed to be a part of Roadtrip Nation. It's Sunday night and I really still am excited about going into work tomorrow, kind of have those first day of school, a world of possibility, and all the time in the world to dedicate it to staring back at you in the face.

I'm nothing but thankful right now, being able to achieve something I've envisioned for awhile now, knowing that there were so many times, when I doubted it to the utmost. feelin on top of the world, and gotta keep this rollin!

Check out the true details of Zack Morris' real life after Saved By The Bell. Pretty funny bit and even a special Zack Attack performance at the end w/ The Roots!

The struggles of right now for me in every aspect of life, I see are slowing transforming from barricades and obstacles into blessings and the pinpoint motivations of expression, music, writing, and living fulfilled.

I realized that when everything in my life is tidied up and have the perfect balance, I lose some hunger, I lose a bit of drive, and I find myself in complacency.

I just gotta keep working at turning these trials into my fuel.

I'll do it.
